Discover who you truly are as a beloved child of God and learn to live from that identity.
Each day pairs a Scripture reading with its historical context, connections across the Bible, a short prayer, and journal prompts to write through.
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
Psalm 139:14 · KJV
Paul opens Ephesians with one long sentence (in Greek) of praise for spiritual blessings. 'Chosen before the foundation of the world' means God's love for you isn't a reaction to your performance—it preceded your existence. Before time began, before you could succeed or fail, God set His love upon you.
Jesus told His disciples, 'You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you' (John 15:16). 1 Peter 2:9 calls believers 'a chosen generation.' The doctrine of election isn't about exclusion but security—your identity rests on God's choice, not your worthiness.
We begin our identity journey at the beginning—before the beginning. Your identity isn't built on your achievements, failures, or others' opinions. It's built on God's eternal choice. Everything else in this plan flows from this foundation.
Lord, You made me and You know me completely. Help me to see myself as fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. Amen.
