Everything people ask before they start — pricing, privacy, the Bible inside, and the journals on the way.
Pen & Psalm is a Christian Bible-journaling app. Each morning it gives you a Bible verse chosen for the season you're in, a quiet prayer timer, and a private journal to write what God is stirring — with the complete King James Version built in and readable offline. It also offers guided Scripture reading plans, and a companion line of linen-bound physical journals and Bible-safe pens.

Bible journaling is the practice of writing your response to Scripture — a prayer beside a promise, a date beside a verse that arrived on time, a reflection on what a passage means for your life. It slows reading down into meeting with God. Pen & Psalm is built around that practice: read the Word, reflect in prayer, write it down.
Three ways. First, it is journaling-first: the center of the app is the page you write on, not a feed — there are no ads, no social features, and no noise. Second, it is beautiful on purpose: every day the interface is set against a custom classical painting of a scene from Scripture. Third, it extends to paper: physical linen-bound journals and Bible-safe pens are designed alongside the app, so the practice lives on paper as well as glass.
The complete King James Version (KJV), bundled into the app and readable offline, with reading progress tracked book by book.
Nine guided plans: Finding Peace in Anxiety (free), Standing on God's Promises, Learning to Pray, Forgiveness & Freedom, Your Identity in Christ, Trusting God in Trials, The Fruit of the Spirit, Miracles of Jesus (35 days), and Resisting Evil. Most are 7 days; each day pairs Scripture with historical context, cross-references, a prayer, and journal prompts. Browse all plans.

The scenes are custom classical paintings made for Pen & Psalm — the Good Shepherd, the Sermon on the Mount, the Crucifixion, the empty tomb at dawn, the Ascension, and more. A different scene greets you each day, and on days when Christ is at the center of the canvas the interface is arranged so nothing overlaps His figure. See the art.
Open it, read today's verse — it takes less than a minute, and it's free.
